Introduction

The South West Thames Regional Genetics Service is based at

St George’s Hospital in Tooting, South West London.

It was established in 1986, and now serves a population of over 3 million throughout South West London, Surrey and West Sussex.

We aim to provide an integrated genetics service for individuals or families who have, or are at risk of having a genetic disorder.

The service consists of...

• The Clinical Genetics department. Which holds clinics at St George's and a number of other hospitals and health centres across the region.

• The Molecular and Cytogenetic laboratory services. Providing comprehensive sample testing and analysis.

The service also works closely with the Medical Genetics department of St George's University Of London, conducting research into inherited diseases and genetics disorders.
